About
Cheri Collins has worked in the criminal justice system since 2011 and joined Shepard Law as Chief Operations Officer in June 2022. She leads the firm’s operations, with responsibility for intake, billing and staffing, and focuses on making the experience a seamless one for clients and attorneys alike.
She is known for her leadership, her compassion, and her commitment to getting things right, and she plays a central part in shaping both the culture and the efficiency of the firm.
Background
Cheri spent eleven years at the Office of the State Attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit in Bay County, from 2011 to 2022. She began as a legal assistant organizing the Misdemeanor Diversion Program, moved into violation of probation administration, and finished as a felony assistant supporting Assistant State Attorneys. Few people understand how a criminal case moves through the Bay County system as closely as someone who spent a decade inside it.
Earlier in her career she worked in human resources, as an executive assistant at the Times Leader newspaper in Pennsylvania, and in transportation management, where she spent four years dispatching for trash removal and construction sites. That combination of administrative, people and logistics experience is what she draws on running the operations of a busy criminal defense firm.

Outside the Office
Cheri grew up in Bay County, graduated from Rutherford High School, and is the daughter of a retired United States Air Force veteran. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, reading, gardening, and a game of pool, having played in the APA Pool League.
