Carol Hall
Paralegal
About
Carol Hall joined Shepard Law in April 2025 after a decade inside the office that prosecutes the firm’s cases.
She manages attorney calendars and scheduling, handles client communication, and prepares and e-files court documents. She is also the person who receives, downloads and organizes every piece of discovery the State produces, which on a criminal case is where the defense begins.
Background
Carol spent ten years as a legal assistant at the Office of the State Attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit before moving across to criminal defense. She worked at another criminal defense firm before joining Shepard Law.
Ten years inside the State Attorney’s Office means she knows how a file is built long before it reaches the defense — what the State holds, how it is organized, and what tends to arrive late. On a case where the evidence runs to thousands of pages, that is not an administrative detail.
Credentials
- Florida Registered Paralegal — The Florida Bar, 2026
Outside the Office
Carol is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She is married with two children, two grandchildren, and what she describes as four grandpuppies and two grandbunnies. She gardens, spends as much time as she can working in the yard, and will take any excuse to go to Disney World.
